Another week of exceptional releases, and today, I’ve got 4 artists to champion, right here on MoggBlog. All residing in a gorgeous rock soundscape, these tunes will get you headbanging in no time.

SIR-VERE – THE CRAZIES

From the very first note, you know this song is going to be a song for all ages. A song that you can grab by the horns and headbang throughout the song without wanting to stop. “The Crazies” is a crazy release, and you don’t expect anything else. Speaking about the modern-day lifestyle of conspiracy theories, mass self-medication, and self-destruction, the track features a hard-hitting message that will keep you on your toes from start to finish.

“Our brand new single / EP “The Crazies” is out on Worldsound / Virgin Music Group. It’s our first release on this label. It’s a song of our times, these crazy times, yes we all live with the Crazies… all of us”, shares the group.

The production is raw and in places feels slightly industrial. Primarily, the track resides in an alternative rock meets The Prodigy-esque arrangement. It does stay within a similar formula and dynamically doesn’t venture out as much as hoped, but it works so much. The band uses what they’ve got in the track and masters every instrument level. All topped off by addictive lyrics that we’ve come to expect from this group, this is a song that shoots for the stars and will easily plummet SIR-VERE into the legend atmosphere.

STUART ROLFE – HOW LOVIN’ YOU GOES

There’s a lot of emotion in country rock music that has to be executed right, and Stuart Rolfe does exactly that in “How Lovin’ You Goes“. Equipped with a sound that could fill three stadiums at once, the new release is an intimate song with personal references as well as a feeling of complete emotion that any could relate to. Musically, the track is anthemic and an easy-listening number that can easily pull at the heartstrings.

Stuart’s vocals have a warm, reassuring tone that glides the track like a free bird. I feel that this song proves that loving someone with all your might is as easy as saying 1, 2, 3. It’s a breath of fresh air to hear a track that sings about love traditionally in a hectic industry.

Speaking about the new release, Stuart Rolfe shares: “The song is a love song. The idea was taken from watching Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill. Watching how in love with Faith Tim is and his devotion to her. Also, it’s written from a personal experience of how I felt about a certain partner. This song shows that my heart still has a gooey center. Remember always turn around and help the person behind you.”

BAÏKI – LES BOITES

A track about being too protected, BAÏKI’s “Les Boites” speaks about how, as a planet, we all live in our protective boxes, but it’s those boxes that actually hold us back even more. A fast-paced track that echoes the frantic form that we call life, the new release resides in an alternative rock limelight with pop-punk measurements thrown in for extra spice. The Belgium band’s performance is fuelled with energy and confidence that proves they know exactly what they’re doing and what they want to achieve with their music.

Speaking about the track, the group shared: “We run from one box to the next, but while we’re running, we don’t take the time to stop and think. Everything is neatly filed away in virtue drawers. All tidied up until the end of the road. Where all that’s left… is memories in boxes.

The music video is the result of long brainstorming sessions. At first, there was a strong temptation to stick to the disenchanted theme of the text, but each time, the synopsis didn’t satisfy. Rather than illustrate the lyrics of the song, they decided to do the complete opposite!

KING CRASH – TOGETHER (MERRY MAKER)

A rising group that resides in a psychedelic rock meets jazz fusion soundscape, King Crash knows exactly what works within their music. It’s hectic at times and filled with energy making their music not for the faint-hearted, which I love. A lot of musicians make bold claims about being ‘all about the music’ or ‘just wanting to play’ but how many actually take it to the extreme of setting up on a street corner or hopping over fences just to play their music to passing people?

“Our music calls to mind the ’60s festival heyday and the nostalgia of a classic Santana Woodstock live recording or something similar from those halcyon days” explains the group. Armed with an artistic sound, King Crash’s musicianship is controlled by ambitious guitar riffs, rhythmic percussion, punk energy, and charismatic vocals.

With moments of indie rock thrown in for extra adrenaline, “Together (Merry Maker)” grips you and keeps you on your toes, waiting for the band’s next move. I love how nostalgic their music makes me feel but also hopeful for better days to come. There’s hope and creativity in their tunes that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.
